We are a non-partisan community demanding governmental decisions and actions based on evidence and love.
Necessity is the Mother of Invention.
The country that the framers of the US Constitution envisioned in 1787 is much different today, and it’s time for a change. How can we finally realize the unrealized promises of America — things like freedom, equality, and justice — now that anti-democratic forces are ripping the old house down to the studs?
These are the questions we are exploring together, because the only way through this is together.
Upcoming Meetings
We meet on Sundays, the 2nd week of each month @ 4:00 pm PST/7:00 pm EST and on Thursdays, the 3rd or 4th week of each month at 1:00 pm PST/4:00 pm EST on Zoom. (In November and December, the 4th Thursday is a holiday, so we’ll meet the Thursday before…) That way, you have a choice of time o’ day and hopefully can join us live at least once a month! We also send out a recap after each meeting.
Please be sure to sign up for our email list so we can send you the Zoom link.

Book “Club” - George Orwell’s 1984
One of our favorite protest signs reads: “Make Orwell fiction again!”
But as we know, truth is often stranger than fiction. So, we figured it makes sense to be reading the classic novel 1984 at perhaps the most Orwellian time in US history.
Instruction manual, cautionary tale, or something else? That’s what we discuss in our 1984-inspired conversations at our monthly Thursday meetings. You don’t have to be reading the book to gain some insight from our always-lively convos led by the fantastic teacher and founder of Authentic Voice, Jen Dohr.
On December 4th, we’ll be chatting about the third and final section of the novel. Here’s the Reading Guide for Part III and the Appendix.
And if you’d like an excellent guide any time you pick up 1984, please enjoy the Reading Guide for Part I and the Reading Guide for Part II that Jen created for us.
About Us
Hi Friend!
Welcome to Mothers for the Future, an organization that emerged from a conversation between friends in response to the overwhelming feelings we were experiencing in the aftermath of January 20th, 2025.
If you’re like us, you might be feeling a range of things: Mad, sad, frustrated, overwhelmed, disgusted, afraid, confused.
Or, maybe worst of all, apathetic.
But none of that is us. And if you’re reading this, it’s not in your nature, either. And we must respect Mother Nature!
So, we decided to do what mothers do all the time — stand up for what’s right, kick bullies to the curb, and make the world a better place. But this won’t just happen on its own: it’s up to us to dream, scheme, create, and activate.
Stay tuned, we’re just getting started!
